We’re hiring a protein mass spectrometry research scientist!

This position has been filled.

To apply, visit the job posting on Indeed or send us your resume at info (at) proteinaceous.net.

This Research Scientist will be responsible for collecting high-quality datasets using Thermo Orbitrap systems including the Eclipse, Exploris, and Q Exactive systems for testing and developing our next-generation software solutions. Ultimately, this Scientist will acquire high-quality intact protein data that can be used to advance our data analysis applications for processing and visualizing protein mass spectrometry and proteomics data. An example of the data that may be collected is in-depth characterization of intact proteins such as antibodies.

The role will also include interfacing with scientists across industry and academia as well as working with our collaborators at a leading mass spectrometry company.

This position is based out of Evanston, IL. The instruments needed for this job position are located at Northwestern University in the laboratory of Professor Neil Kelleher and the Proteomics Center of Excellence.

Our ideal candidate has a mix of the following:

  • Strong understanding and comfort with mass spectrometry data

  • Experience characterizing proteins by mass spectrometry, particularly intact proteins, with proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical methods
