“ProSight Annotator: Complete control and customization of protein entries in UniProt xml files” published in Proteomics!

We’re excited to share that our technical brief on PROSIGHT ANNOTATOR was published in the March 14 issue of Proteomics: Proteomics and Systems Biology.

We developed PROSIGHT ANNOTATOR to address challenges related to candidate database creation. PROSIGHT ANNOTATOR allows researchers to create UniProt formatted XML files, while controlling the content of databases they create and search against. As a result, researchers are no longer limited by the existing annotations in a given knowledgebase. Instead, starting with UniProt annotations PROSIGHT ANNOTATOR allows features to be added or removed. Its visually intuitive design allows users to easily understand what UniProt features are present, and how adding and removing features affects search spaces.

The newly annotated XML files can then be used as databases in our ProSight tools.
